Well-Being for Organizations
Organizational well-being generally refers to the overall health and happiness of the employees within an organization.
Culture that promotes work-life balance, opportunities for growth and development, and open communication and collaboration are hallmarks of organizational well-being.
Organizational health depends on the 5 Ps: Purpose, People, Processes, Planet and Profit. How organizations prioritize these varies. But, at Artwell & Clarity we believe that profit takes care of itself when your people are happy, the organization is purpose-focused, processes are solid, and operations are sustainable.

Purpose
The purpose of the business should always support its overall Mission. But more than that, a clearly stated purpose helps to focus goals, motivate employees, and rally customers to something you have or do that they need or want. Having a clear purpose provides direction, meaning, and motivation.
When people understand why they are doing what they are doing, they focus their efforts better, make better decisions, and achieve their goals more effectively. A sense of purpose also fosters the feeling of belonging and being fulfilled because it connects people to something greater than themselves.
People
People do the work. No people, no work. No work, no product. No product, no profit.
People are the driving force behind any successful endeavor. They bring unique perspectives, skills, and experiences that contribute to the growth and innovation of a business.
Promoting work-life balance, fostering a supportive and inclusive culture, and enabling people to grow professionally enhances employee satisfaction. People feel valued and prioritized. Valued employees are more productive and engaged, leading to better performance and lower turnover rates.
Processes
Processes create clear structures to provide efficient and effective task completion. They support operations to run smoothly, minimize waste, increase productivity, and enhance engagement. Everyone knows what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. Clearly defined processes also provide a framework for measuring goals and making improvements.
Processes are the starting line for everything. You need something done. It needs to be done in this way and within this time frame. That takes this many staff, doing this, and in this way.
After mission and purpose, a clearly defined and mindful process is the most basic feature from which everything else is defined, acquired, or completed.
Profit
Profit is undoubtedly an essential aspect of business. It keeps the doors open!
Profitable companies can reinvest in their operations, expand their reach, and provide returns to shareholders. Knowing and being good at balancing costs, productivity, and pricing is key.
Sometimes, there are surprising aspects to the equation, like spending more on a piece of equipment that will boast productivity over the long term but be costly in the immediate.
Staff say they want more pay, but really, what they need most is connection to supervisors and clear expectations – things that are not costly, and pay-off in less turnover (cost), reduced errors, and better productivity.
What these examples, and myriad more variables, really come down to leveraging resources, costs, risk, and productivity to earn a healthy bottom line.
Planet
As an organization strives for success and growth, it’s important to remember that profit should never come at the expense of our planet.
Sustainable business and manufacturing practices support our environment and its inhabitants – including those who do the work and the raw materials for products.
Short-term gains at the expense of long-term sustainability are short-sighted and, in the long run, will reduce organizational resilience and longevity. Also, in today’s business climate, keeping an eye on the health of the planet and helping to support its health has become an increasingly strong attractant for customers – and morale builder for staff.
